RLS Registration Opens Nov. 3
Residency Leadership Summit (RLS) is the only national event dedicated to the needs of family medicine residency programs for both MDs and DOs. This year, residency program directors, faculty and administrators will come together in Dallas, TX, March 4–6, to network and elevate their programs.

2026 Match: Help Applicants Shine

As residency interviews ramp up in October and November, you can support applicants by clearly communicating interview formats and expectations, aligning with the Match timeline and strengthening pre- and post-interview communication.

The AAFP’s
Strolling Through the Match guidebook is designed for students and provides useful tips on interview structure, applicant engagement and resource sharing. It’s a helpful resource for candidates and can be used during orientation or second-look visits.

The guidebook advises applicants to highlight three key aspects of themselves using open-ended questions. As students prepare for standard questions, programs should ask unique follow-ups and be ready for location-specific inquiries, because applicants may inquire about the community and training environment's uniqueness.

FUTURE Poster Submissions Open Late November
The
FUTURE 2026 poster competition gives attendees a venue to showcase innovative educational programs and unique community projects. Elevate the next generation of physician leaders by encouraging your residents enter their submissions.

Fighting for Family Medicine

Here's an advocacy update to share with your residents:

The AAFP Fights for Student Loan Relief

Most residents rely on loan forgiveness, and the AAFP is working to protect it. We're opposing PSLF restrictions, advocating for GRAD PLUS protections, and pushing for expanded repayment programs in underserved areas. Add your voice to our campaigns.
