Residency Leadership Summit 2026
Join more than 1,200 family medicine residency leaders at Residency Leadership Summit (RLS), March 4–6, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, TX. Whether you're navigating ACGME requirements or ABFM outcomes, seeking innovative solutions or building stronger faculty-resident culture, RLS delivers the insights and tools you need to elevate your program’s impact.
As health care shifts from fee-for-service toward models that better reflect the complexity of family medicine, it’s critical to equip residents with the skills to lead in VBC environments. The Curriculum for Teaching Value-Based Care to Residents is a free, video-based education package designed in collaboration with family medicine residency program directors. The targeted curriculum helps programs meet ACGME requirements, advocate for VBC implementation and access practical tools like sample schedules. Residents benefit by gaining the confidence to evaluate VBC readiness in future employers, succeed in post-training practice and advocate for primary care-centered payment systems.

This month we’re featuring Bill Gillanders,MD, FAAFP, emeritus RPS consultant.
A well-established Midwest program used the RPS Criteria for Excellence to do a self-assessment and decided to focus on moving the family medicine practice to a team-based advanced practice model. Dr. Gillanders helped plan this transition, including suggestions for remodeling the physical space to support a team-based practice.
