Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO)
event Sunday, Aug. 24 – ALSO Course
Multidisciplinary emergency obstetric training for the entire pregnancy care team
Interprofessional training to manage obstetric emergencies
Team-based learning among physicians, residents, nurse midwives, registered nurses and others
Standardized approaches to improve patient safety and impact pregnancy outcomes
Blended learning format with online and in-person components
Robust curriculum, including topics like preterm labor and prelabor rupture of membranes, late pregnancy bleeding and pregnancy related sepsis
Hands-on workstations to practice skills, such as shoulder dystocia assisted vaginal delivery, trauma and resuscitation in pregnancy, and postpartum hemorrhage
